Taking a break

Posted by Porter  Published in Opinion

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few weeks.

Sometimes you need to step away from the game and take a break, and that’s what I’ve been doing.   I’m using this time to clear my head, do a little reading, and come back to the game with a fresh start in another few weeks.

Until then I’ll post an article or two about some interesting books and other promotional events going on in the poker-sphere.

Welcome to Poker Adept!

Poker Playing Dogs

Welcome to my new blog, and the very first post on the new blog.

So what is Poker Adept all about?    well, my hope is that it will be a place to exchange information, tips, experiences, and ideas on the game of Poker.

Whether you’re a casual poker player playing nickle, dime poker with your friends a few times a month,  an online player, or a big time tournament player,  my  hope is that everyone will have something to learn and offer here.

I’ll try to post every day, but occasionally a few days may go between posts.  If I read a good poker book, you’ll hear about it here, if I travel to a tournament down the street, or in Las Vegas, you’ll hear about it here,  if I gain some new insight or new tactic, or discover a new website/resource, you’ll hear about it here.

I’ll also be doing a little experiment I’m calling the “$300 challenge”.   My goal is to play small tournament sit-n-go’s online, and see if I can turn it into a substantial bankroll, similar to what many professionals and online players have done, and are doing.  I’ll be updating my progress on the $300 challenge after each session I play.

If you play poker, and would like to contribute with posts of your own, I would love to have more people writing on the blog,  send me an email at: patamon@yahoo.com and I’ll get you up and running.

Thanks for checking out Poker Adept!    Shuffle up and Deal!
